Computer/Internet Services Library patrons may sign up at the circulation desk to use
computers for word processing and Internet
access.
Genealogical Research The
Pennsylvania Room contains library materials about:
- state and local history
- books of cemetery inscriptions
- birth, death, and marriage abstracts
- historic collections of local newspapers
- Tioga County census records
- a special collection of old and rare books
Also available on our website are the
Newspaper Archives of local newspapers from the 1800's
to the current issues and
Heritage Quest, an online genealogy database.
Gifts Library staff work closely with individuals wishing to place
memorial and honor books in the library. Your gifts are
welcome and serve to enhance the library collection.
Gifts,
memorials, legacies, and endowments are always welcome.
Interlibrary Loan Books not available at The Green Free Library may be
requested from other libraries through interlibrary loan.
Request forms are available at the circulation desk.
Printing/Photocopying/Fax Services The library offers all of these services for a fee.
Reference Service A reference librarian is on duty to help with research and
answer questions. Staff can help patrons search the catalog
and locate books and information through a variety of media
including reference CDs and the World Wide Web.
Reserving Books Books currently checked out may be placed on hold. Library
staff will add your name to waiting lists, and will notify you
when those items have come in. Materials will be held for one
week.
Tax Forms A large selection of
federal and state tax forms is available for the filing
year.
Children’s Programs/Outreach
Story Hour
The library sponsors a weekly story hour for toddlers &
preschool age children on Wednesdays at around 10:15am. Children, parents
and grandparents are invited to attend.
Summer Reading
The library sponsors a series of fun literacy-based
activities and programs throughout the summer months.
Children of all ages are encouraged to participate. Look for
brochures about this exciting program.
SeniorsSenior Outreach
A substantial collection of large print books is available
to our patrons, as well as a rotating collection that
changes every two months.
The library sponsors a series of literature-based programs at
area assisted living homes, and maintains rotating
collections at some senior facilities.
