Bi-Annual Tea Party
Yoko Kawashima Watkins will talk to students about her
book, So Far From the Bamboo Grove. Friends will present
copies of the book to about 150 seventh grade students at the Rock
L. Butler School. Funds for these books are raised by
Friends memberships and the annual Book Sale to promote a
love of books and reading.

Wed, June 11, 4-7 pm - Preview Sale for Friends
members only.
(You can join before entering the sale.)
Thur, June 12 & Fri, June 13, 10am-6pm - Public Sale.
Sat, June 14, 10am-4pm - $2 Bag Sale.
What: 1,000's of books -
children's books cookbooks, fiction, biography, art,
music, religion, philosophy, travel, health, history,
how-to, hobby and large print. There are several wonderful
collections, including many books on General Custer, western
novels, religions, the classics, etc. in our general book
sale. New categories have been added for your shopping
convenience - thrillers/mysteries, true crime, young adult
and more.
Silent Auction -
May 1- June 14
Where: Display case in
the library foyer.
When: May 1 to 11,
regular library hours, then it moves to the First
Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on June 11 at 4 pm .
Auction ends on Sat, June 14
at 4 pm.
What: About 20 Rare &
Collectible Books.
All ladies are invited to attend. Mary B. "Miss Mazie"
Robinson once lived in the lovely building that now serves
as The Green Free Library. Bring your mother, daughters,
sisters, grandmothers, and granddaughters. Period costumes
optional: long, flowing skirts and large brimmed 1900-style
hats. Reservations are not required, but appreciated, in
order to accommodate tables, seating, and refreshments. This
is a special and enjoyable event for ladies of all ages.
Members will receive an invitation. Watch for details in the
Wellsboro Gazette.
The silent auction will be held at the Gmeiner Art And
Cultural Center in
July. The opening reception is July 6th, from 2 to 4 pm. The
proceeds benefit The Friends of the Green Free Library.
Winning bids will be announced July 25, with pickup over the
following weekend.
